J’ai la joie et le privilège de vous annoncer que mon ouvrage Le Dictionnaire du christianisme - The Dictionary of Christian Words paraît à la fin de ce mois de novembre 2007. C’est un ouvrage sur lequel j’ai travaillé pendant plus de dix ans et pour lequel j’ai utilisé plus de 200 dictionnaires, encyclopédies, revues et livres spécialisés. Il est édité à la fois sous format papier et sous format numérique par les Editions Publibook, et peut être commandé via le site de l’éditeur - http://www.publibook.com/ , ainsi que sur http://www.amazon.fr/ et sur http://www.fnac.com/ .
Si vous avez remarqué que notre blog n’était plus mis à jour depuis mars, c’était donc parce que depuis lors j’étais très occupé à réviser et à finaliser ce projet. Entre-temps nous avons eu aussi des activités pour les hommes, à savoir des rencontres locales et régionales pour Bruxelles, Turnhout et Anvers. Cependant, le temps nous manquait pour en faire des rapports.
Le Dictionnaire du christianisme - The Dictionary of Christian Words, c’est premièrement un dictionnaire de définition de tous les termes chrétiens, avec leurs différents sens ou usages et ce, dans tous les domaines – critique biblique, histoire, théologie – et dans toutes les branches du christianisme – catholiques, orthodoxes, protestants, anglicans, évangéliques, pentecôtistes. Et c’est deuxièmement un dictionnaire bilingue français-anglais et anglais-français de toute la terminologie chrétienne. Il s’adresse non seulement aux professeurs et étudiants en théologie, mais aussi au grand public, à quiconque s’intéresse au christianisme en général. Ce n’est ni un dictionnaire biblique ni un dictionnaire de théologie avec de longs articles techniques, mais un dictionnaire de langue. Son but est d’offrir à tous un ouvrage de référence où ils peuvent vérifier le sens exact et complet de n’importe quel terme chrétien et de trouver son équivalent en anglais et vice versa.
Pour chaque mot-clé du dictionnaire sont indiqués sa catégorie grammaticale (adjectif, nom, verbe ; masculin ou féminin ; singulier ou pluriel), son étymologie dans l’alphabet original (cyrillique, grec, hébreu, latin) avec quelquefois sa translittération en caractères latins, ses différents sens selon l’époque ou les milieux chrétiens (catholiques, protestants, etc.), ses nombreux dérivés (adjectifs, noms, verbes), ses synonymes et antonymes, son équivalent anglais et ses corrélats (sujets connexes). Pour avoir une vue d’ensemble d’un sujet donné et découvrir ses différents aspects, les mots-clés sont regroupés selon leur étymologie et leur lien de sens sous une entrée principale. Ainsi les termes « chrétien », « cryptochrétien » et « post-chrétien » sont traités sous le mot-clé « chrétien ». L’utilisateur dispose également de quatre index: un index des références bibliques et un index des Noms propres mentionnés dans le corpus, puis un index français-anglais et un index anglais-français.

Le Dictionnaire du christianisme - The Dictionary of Christian Words is firstly a definition dictionary of all Christian terms in French, with their different meanings and usages, in all fields – Biblical criticism, history, theology – and in all the branches of Christianity – Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Protestantism, Anglicanism, Evangelicalism, and Pentecostalism. And secondly it is a bilingual dictionary French-English and English-French of all the Christian terminology. Its target audience is not only professors and students in theology, but also the general public, anyone interested in Christianity in general. It is neither a Bible dictionary nor a theological dictionary with long technical articles, but a language dictionary. Its purpose is to offer everyone a tool with which they can verify the exact and complete meaning of any Christian term and find its equivalent in English and vice versa.

The user also has four indexes: one index of Bible references, one index of Proper Nouns mentioned in the corpus, one French-English index and one English-French index.

2007 17 03 Breakfast/Petit Déjeuner (Christian Center)
« When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. » -- 1 Corinthians 13:11 (NKJV)
BE A MAN! -- Right. But what does that mean? The world stereotypes and the biblical view of a real man. This was the topic that we dealt with in our Men of Honor breakfast meeting on Saturday March 17th, 2007 at Christian Center. So if you missed that, try to be there next time. We will probably develop that topic a little more or address some other practical issues related to men’s needs.
« Lorsque j'étais enfant, je parlais comme un enfant, je pensais comme un enfant, je raisonnais comme un enfant; lorsque je suis devenu homme, j'ai fait disparaître ce qui était de l'enfant. » -- 1 Corinthiens 13:11 (LSG)
SOIS UN HOMME! -- Bien. Mais qu’est-ce que cela signifie? Les stéréotypes du monde et le point de vue biblique d’un vrai homme. Tel était le sujet que nous avons traité lors de notre petit déjeuner des Hommes d’Honneur le samedi 17 mars 2007 à Christian Center. Si donc vous l’avez raté, essayez d’être là la prochaine fois. Nous allons probablement développer davantage ce thème ou traiter d’autres sujets pratiques liés aux besoins des hommes.

2007 01 20 Breakfast/Petit déjeuner (CEP, Molenbeek)

2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing—Life forevermore. - Psalm 133 (NKJV)
This is the experience the Men of Honor of Christian Center as they met with their brothers of CEP (Communauté Evangélique Philadelphie) in their church building on Saturday January 20th 2007. After enjoying a nice breakfast we had the privilege of getting acquainted with one another, each one telling his name and country of origin. After that, pastor Théodore of CEP shared with us from John 7:37-39 how to be a man of God, and not simply a European man or an African man. Then our brother Sosthène of CEP told us how he discovered what it really means to be a Christian and how he’s been experiencing God’s goodness and providence everyday since he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Our brother Christopher closed the meeting with an exhortation from Luke 5:1-11 to be attentive to the specific word that the Lord has for us for this year 2007 and not simply to the broad word or promises included in the Bible. We need to be led by the Spirit of God and not by our own wisdom or flesh. This is the key to our success for this year 2007. Everything was of course preceded and followed with prayer and joyful singing.

2 C'est comme l'huile précieuse qui, répandue sur la tête, Descend sur la barbe, sur la barbe d'Aaron, Qui descend sur le bord de ses vêtements.

Car c'est là que l'Éternel envoie la bénédiction, La vie, pour l'éternité. - Psaume 133 (Segond)
C’est l’expérience des Hommes d’Honneur de Christian Center tandis qu’ils se réunissaient avec leurs frères de CEP (Communauté Evangélique Philadelphie) dans leur local le samedi 20 janvier 2007. Après un bon petit déjeuner nous avons eu le privilège de faire connaissance les uns avec les autres, chacun se présentant par son prénom et son pays d’origine. Après cela, le pasteur Théodore de CEP partagea avec nous à partir de Jean 7:37-39 comment être un homme de Dieu, et pas simplement être un homme européen ou africain. Puis notre frère Sosthène de CEP nous raconta comment il a découvert ce que cela signifie vraiment d’être chrétien et comment il expérimente la bonté et la providence de Dieu depuis qu’il a accepté Christ comme son Seigneur et Sauveur. Notre frère Christopher clôtura la réunion avec une exhortation de Luc 5:1-11 à être attentif à la parole spécifique que le Seigneur a pour nous pour cette année 2007 et pas simplement la parole ou les promesses générales incluses dans la Bible. Nous avons besoin d’être conduits par l’Esprit de Dieu et non pas par notre propre sagesse ou la chair. C’est la clé de notre succès pour cette année 2007. Le tout fut bien sûr précédé et suivi par la prière et des chants joyeux.
